At Coyne Oil & Propane, our mission is to improve the environmental quality of our community and create a clean and safe place to live and work for future generations. This is a goal that we can not reach individually but as part of an environmental conscience community. By partnering with area businesses, community leaders, and neighbors, we can make a greater impact on our community’s sustainability. Coyne Oil & Propane takes this responsibility seriously and has implemented environmentally friendly energy alternatives.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, as of 2019, four of our six locations use renewable solar power. Starting in 2016, solar panels were installed at our Mount Pleasant, Clare, Interlochen, and Breckenridge locations. Our goal is to continue to use clean renewable energy at these locations and implement renewable energy sources at the rest of our branch locations. Together, our four solar-powered locations continually generate 331,000 kW of clean energy. This is the equivalent of powering electricity to 66 Michigan homes!
UPDATE: as of June 2020, we have implemented solar energy systems at all six locations including our convenience store and carwash generating over 540,000 kw of clean energy, equivalent to powering electricity to over 100 Michigan homes!
Reducing waste is an important part of a sustainable community. Coyne Oil & Propane has been recognized by the Isabella County Recycling Center for outstanding recycling efforts. This was achieved by dedicating an area of the warehouse specifically to recycling products.
