About Coyne Oil & Propane

Family owned, service focused

about us

Since 1930, Coyne has been providing dependable fuel delivery and service to homes and businesses around northern and central Michigan.

We give our customers:

We provide all of this with the prompt, courteous service Coyne is known for. That service is provided by dedicated, skilled staff who treat you like the neighbors you are.

These are the standards for service started by Lorne Coyne when he began the business. He passed that work ethic down to his son, Dan, whose own sons Dave and Mark have been running things for more than 45 years.

In that time, Mark and Dave have greatly expanded the business. They have acquired new companies, which is one of the ways they have grown both their services and their fuel storage capabilities. Storage facilities added include:

  • a 42,000-square-foot warehouse
  • bulk fuel locations in Mt. Pleasant, Evart and Breckenridge
  • propane storage facilities in Interlochen, Cadillac, Tustin and Fife Lake, Clare, Evart, Howard City, Harrison, Gladwin, Ashley, Breckinridge, and Hemlock, Coleman and a 360,000-gallon propane storage facility in Mt. Pleasant

This increased and strategically placed storage allows us to provide our customers with even more peace of mind over their propane and heating oil supply no matter what winter throws our way.

Coyne has taken on new fuels, including propane and the environmentally friendly E85 ethanol/gasoline blend. Commercial services have grown to include fleet fueling, bulk propane and temporary heating. Another addition was the Pickard Street Citgo station, which features a car wash and a convenience store.

Mark and Dave have embraced environmental friendliness in adding solar panels to all our sites, as well as installing electric-vehicle chargers at each office as well as at the Pickard Street Citgo.

We’re also known for being active in our community, supporting organizations that help our neighbors.
